Sculptor Gordon Kray talked about his artistic process in creating a statue of James Monroe for the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. The fifth president attended the college until he enlisted in 1776 to fight the British in the Revolutionary War. William and Mary is also Kray’s alma mater. This event was part of a symposium titled “James Monroe Presidential Inauguration: A Bicentennial Commemoration and Reflection.” close
