The Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Terrorism, Narcotics and International Operations heard testimony from U.S Ambassador to the U.N Madeleine Albright, Former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, who is a member of the U.N. Financing Advisory Group and other dignitaries familiar with U.S. foreign policy on the role of the United Nations in international peacekeeping. The subcommittee also sought testimony on the role of the U.S. in the United Nations, and possible reforms to make the U.N. more cost-effective and efficient. close
