President Lyndon Johnson spoke with his advisors about fighting in the Middle East, a visit to the United Nations by Soviet Premier Kosygin and his efforts to set up a meeting and a pending censure against Connecticut Democratic Senator Thomas Dodd. President Johnson talks to Secretary of State Dean Rusk and Defense Secretary Robert McNamara, National Security Adviser Walter Rostow and the chairmen of the Senate Foreign Relations and Finance committees. He also scolded administration official Farris Bryant for a leak to the press.
