Supreme Court Justice Swearing-In Ceremony Neil Gorsuch was sworn in as the 113th Supreme Court justice. Justice Anthony Kennedy administered the judicial oath to his former law clerk, the first time a sitting justice and former law clerk would serve on Court together. All eight justices and the widow and son of Justice Scalia, whose Judge Gorsuch was replacing, attended the ceremony. This public ceremony followed a private one earlier at the Supreme Court where Chief Justice John Roberts administered the constitutional oath. close
