Former President Obama at the University of Chicago in his first public appearance since leaving the White House, former President Obama spoke about community organizing and civic engagement. Before moderating a panel of six young Chicago-area civic leaders, he talked about the time he spent in Chicago as a community organizer. In describing his post-presidency plans, he said, “The single most important thing I can do is to help in any way I can to prepare the next generation of leadership to take up the baton and to take their own crack at changing the world.” close
