The House debated two bills related to health care. The first would eliminate a provision allowing members of Congress and their staff to keep protections under the Affordable Care Act. The chamber then debated an the Republican replacement bill for the health care law. That measure would eliminate individual insurance mandates, and refund tax credits based on age and income. Other key provisions include ending new enrollment in Medicare expansion as of December 31, 2019; repealing health care taxes in 2018; defunding Planned Parenthood for one year; and keeping the provision allowing adults up to 26 years of age to stay on their parents' health insurance plans. close
