Representative Bill Johnson (R-OH) talked about federal regulation of the coal industry. Topics included the federal government’s role in coal miners' health benefits, and his involvement in effort to repeal the stream protection rule.

At the conclusion of the program, an April 18, 2017, interview with former coal miner Stan Salva in Moundsville, West Virginia, was shown. He talked about life in the mines.

The May 9, 2017 “Washington Journal” focused on coal mining, regulation and the health and environmental impact of the coal industry. Guests during the program were interviewed live from Murray Energy’s transloading center at Powhatan Point, Ohio. close
