The Transportation Department Inspector General said the completion date and cost of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) NextGen project to modernize and change to a satellite-based air traffic control system is still uncertain. The inspector general’s comments came during testimony before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Other aviation experts also testified on these modernization efforts. Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA) chairs the committee while Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR) serves as the ranking member. close
