North Korean Deputy Ambassador to the U.N. Kim In Ryong announced his country would not comply with U.N. Security Council orders if the council did not take action against the U.S. for its military actions in and around the Korean peninsula. Ambassador Ryong said he was seeking for the Security Council and the U.N. Secretary-General to put pressure on the U.S., encouraging a “rolling back of the hostile policy” toward North Korea. Days earlier, North Korea launched a missile that landed more than 780 km from its launch site in Kusong. close
