Hannah Crumme and and other Lewis and Clark University Library Archives and Special Collections staff highlighted a range of books and materials from Lewis and Clark’s expedition in 1804-1806. Lewis and Clark made their way through the Portland area as they traveled west along the Columbia River in their quest to make it to the Pacific ocean.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2017 LCV Cities Tour” in Portland, Oregon, from May 6-12 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
