Attorney General Jeff Sessions vowed to prosecute federal hate crimes including those against transgender people at the Justice Department’s hate crimes summit. According to a new report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics half of all hate crimes are not reported to the police.

Attorney General Sessions said that no person should have to fear being attacked because of who they are, what they believe or how they worship and pledged “as long as I’m attorney general of this Department of Justice we will continue to protect the civil rights of all Americans.” close
