President Trump signed into law an extension of a program that allows veterans to receive private health care outside of VA facilities. During the ceremony, he commented on the white nationalist protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, saying, “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides,” and then adding, “It’s been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump. Not Barack Obama.” The president was joined at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey by Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin. close
