President Trump condemned the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, that resulted from a white nationalist protest and left one woman dead and several injured. A related crash of a police helicopter also left two officers dead. President Trump said the country needed to unify against racist violence, explicitly condemned the white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups that were marching in Charlottesville, and said the Justice Department would pursue charges against any perpetrators of racist violence. close
