President Trump addressed the nation’s troops and the American people on U.S. policy in Afghanistan. He outlined a plan that includes increasing U.S. military presence in the country. He said strategy would “shift from a time-based approach to one based on conditions,” but also, “We will not talk about numbers of troops or our plans for further military activities.” The president stressed that U.S. support to Afghanistan is not a blank check and that America expects to see reforms and results. He also talked about how Afghanistan’s neighboring countries of Pakistan and India can help as well.
