Chad Readler, the acting assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice’s Civil Division, gave a Constitution Day address at Ashland University’s Ashbrook Center. He talked about the emoluments clause, immigration, and sanctuary cities. The emoluments clause in Article I of the Constitution forbids government officials from accepting payments and gifts from foreign governments.

Mr. Readler served as President Trump’s campaign attorney during the 2016 election. close
