Senator John McCain (R-AZ), chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, announced an agreement to add 48 Republican and Democratic amendments to the defense programs Bill, which was pending in the Senate. He said there was an impasse on four “important” amendments that would likely need cloture votes to move forward. He once again called for bipartisanship, saying that there should not be a need to go through the cloture process. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) joined Senator McCain on the floor. close
