The Center for the National Interest hosted a panel discussion on U.S. policy toward North Korea. Speakers included Joseph DeTrani, the former U.S. envoy to the six-party talks with North Korea during the Bush administration. Mr. DeTrani outlined various policy options including nuclear deterrence, diplomatic negotiations and preemptive military strikes. In addition, Greg Scarlatoiu, Committee for Human Rights in North Korea executive director, talked about various human rights violations by the North Korean government and the objectives of leader Kim Jong-un. close
