World War II Films of the First Motion Picture Unit National Archives motion picture preservation specialists Audrey Amidon and Heidi Holmstrom showed clips from World War II films produced by the Army Air Corps' First Motion Picture Unit. During World War II, the First Motion Picture Unit produced over 300 training and recruitment films. The unit was composed entirely of film industry professionals, and many films featured Hollywood stars such as James Stewart, Ronald Reagan, Clark Gable, and Van Heflin. The films are part of the National Archives collections. close
