Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks during the general debate of the opening of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly. He focused most his remarks on the ongoing civil conflict in Syria, which he said has deepened political and military distrust not just in the Middle East, but around the world. He also called on U.N. members to do more to help the Muslim Rohingya people in Myanmar who have been pushed from their homes by militants along the Bangladeshi border. close
