Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered remarks during the general debate of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York City. His remarks focused on two themes: encouraging Canada’s indigenous peoples to take a greater stake in their governance and Canada’s commitment to working with other nations to combat climate change. Prime Minister Trudeau also outlined a number of tax system changes he would be seeking in Canada’s parliament and said the tax rate on private corporations should not be lower than the rate on individual workers. close
