The “March for Civility” was held on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Speakers from different backgrounds shared personal stories, including Michael Brown Sr., whose son was killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, and Daryl Davis, an African American activist who was the subject of a documentary on his friendships with members of the Ku Klux Klan. The event was organized by the Free Hugs Project and the Restore Civility Campaign. close
