Nancy Tystad-Koupal provided insight into the Pioneer Girl Project, the significance of publishing the manuscripts of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s autobiography, and the importance of exploring Laura Ingalls Wilder’s life and work. Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote the Little House on the Prairie series, which went on to sell billions of copies as well as inspire a popular television series. For years, Wilder’s autobiography laid dormant.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2017 LCV Cities Tour” in Pierre, South Dakota, from September 2-7, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Midco cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
