Democratic members of the House Ways and Means Committee heard from witnesses about the Republican tax reform proposal. Among them was Bruce Bartlett, an author and former deputy assistant Treasury secretary who served during the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations. He called the prospects for economic growth from the Republican plan “extremely dubious.” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) also took part in the meeting. close
