Before boarding Marine One to leave for a tax reform event in Indiana, President Trump made comments to reporters on a wide range of topics, including the Alabama U.S. Senate Republican primary runoff, health care, tax reform, the hurricane devastation in Puerto Rico, NFL protests, and Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price’s use of private planes. The president said that Republicans “have the votes” on health care, but were unable to pass their Affordable Care Act replacement bill because of Senator Thad Cochran’s (R-MS) hospitalization. President Trump said that Republicans would try again on the health care law replacement but that in the meantime,he would negotiate with Democrats and make changes through executive order. close
