President Trump Signs National Manufacturing Day Proclamation President Trump signed a proclamation in the White House Oval Office designating October 6, 2017, as National Manufacturing Day. He talked about the importance of manufacturing jobs to the economy and urged Congress to pass his tax reform proposal. At the end of the event, he was asked about his “calm before the storm” comment from the previous evening, to which he replied again, “You’ll find out.” Event attendees included manufacturing workers and officials from the National Association of Manufacturers. close
