President Trump announced that the U.S. “cannot and will not” certify the Iran nuclear deal and said he was directing his administration to address the deal’s “many serious flaws.” In his remarks, he outlined what he called a new Iran strategy, which included tougher sanctions against the Iranian leadership. Congress has 60 days to decide whether to reimpose sanctions on Iran. President Trump said the deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was one of the worst and most “one-sided transactions the U.S. has ever entered into.” close
