College presidents and heads of historic sites talked about how their institutions were researching and highlighting the stories and contributions of those who were enslaved in their communities. Speakers included presidents from the College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia, as well as historians from James Madison’s Montpelier and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. The event was part of a symposium held at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. close
