President Trump met with Governor Ricardo Rossello of Puerto Rico in the Oval Office to provide an update on Hurricane Maria recovery efforts. He said the federal government had done a “really great job” and rated their response efforts “a ten” on a scale of one to ten. In addition, the president said he has offered his support to Congress in providing disaster relief funding for Puerto Rico but emphasized that federal officials could not remain on the island indefinitely. Other meeting attendees included Vice President Pence, FEMA Administrator Brock Long, and Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert. close
