French Defense Minister Florence Parly spoke about the Iran nuclear agreement, national security strategy, global terror threats, and a proposal for a joint European Union defense force. She said that scrapping the Iran nuclear agreement would be a “gift” to Iranian hardliners and a “first step toward future wars.” This comes after President Trump’s recent announcement to decertify the agreement and continued threats to ultimately pull out of the deal. Following her speech, she answered questions from moderator Heather Conley as well as audience members. close
