Six Years in the Hanoi Hilton Amy Shively Hawk talked about her stepfather, James Shively, and his imprisonment after his plane was shot down and he was captured by the North Vietnamese in 1967. Ms. Shively is the author of Six Years in the Hanoi Hilton: An Extraordinary Story of Courage and Survival in Vietnam. The National Archives hosted this event in conjunction with the opening of their “Remembering Vietnam” exhibit. close
