Veteran Everett Alvarez talked about his service in Vietnam and his experience being held captive for over eight years in Hỏa Lò Prison, named ironically by American POWs as the “Hanoi Hilton.”

The program opened with a two-minute clip of remarks made by Mr. Alvarez at the dedication of the Vietnam Memorial in 1982. He was serving as the deputy administration for the Veterans Administration at the time. close
