The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral argument for International Refugee Assistance Project v. Trump. The court was to decide the legality of the third version of President Trump’s travel ban issued in September 2017 that places certain restrictions on nationals from Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Somalia, Venezuela, and Yemen. Six of these are Muslim-majority countries. In December 2017, the Supreme Court issued an order allowing the ban to take full effect pending appeals before the Fourth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals. close
