House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and other House Republicans held a news conference to discuss passage of the tax reform bill. Shortly before the briefing, the House approved the proposal by a vote of 227 to 205. Thirteen Republicans joined all Democrats in voting against the measure. Other speakers included House Ways and Means Committee Chair Kevin Brady (R-TX), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Republican Conference Chair Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). close
