Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland held a brief press conference following the fifth round of North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) renegotiations in Mexico City. Ms. Freeland said Canada remained committed to a variety of goals in its NAFTA talks, including maintaining a strong trading relationship with the U.S. and Mexico, as well as protecting the markets of many Canadian agricultural products. NAFTA renegotiations began earlier in 2017 after President Trump took office, vowing to improve the agreement for U.S. interests, or scrap it. close
