Global Terror Threats, Part 2 The House Homeland Security Committee held a hearing to examine global and domestic terror threats facing the United States. This portion featured Knoxville, Tennessee, Police Chief David Rausch, Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Southern Poverty Law Center President Richard Cohen. They primarily discussed domestic terror threats posed by extremist hate groups, as well as how those groups and others benefit from the use of social media to organize and disseminate their messages. They offered recommendations for what Congress, the Trump administration, and social media and tech companies could do to counter those hate groups' online proliferation. close
