Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Richard Burr (R-NC) was interviewed by David Sanger at a symposium on cybersecurity threats to democracies, including voting infrastructure security and foreign attempts to shape public debate through disinformation and online commentary. Senator Burr gave an update on his committee’s investigation involving Russia and the 2016 elections. He said they the committee had interviewed over 100 individuals so far, but he declined to provide a timeline for when the investigation would be completed. In addition, he discussed his concerns with voting infrastructure security for the 2018 midterm elections. close
