Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) spoke briefly with reporters on Capitol Hill about the sexual misconduct allegations against Senator Al Franken (D-MN). She said senators could not force Senator Franken to resign, but she hopes he does the right thing and steps aside. Senator Hirono was of the first in a number of senators, including Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who called on their colleague to give up his seat. close
