Following a break, the Democratic National Committee resumed the final session of its two-day meetings. The 21-member panel was created to recommend changes to the party’s presidential nomination process after calls to make the system more fair. Among the proposals were reducing the number of super delegates who are not bound to state primaries or caucuses by more than half, and making the elections more accessible and transparent. The full national committee will vote on the recommendations at its fall 2018 meeting. The commission was created in 2016 after calls to make the nominating process more fair following the presidential primaries between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). close
