The Shakespeare Theatre Company of Washington, D.C., presented a mock trial based on William Shakespeare’s play, Twelfth Night. A panel of federal judges heard oral arguments by attorneys representing the characters of Olivia and Sebastian as to whether their marriage should be annulled. Presiding among the judges was Merrick Garland, former Supreme Court nominee and chief judge of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. The event was moderated by defense attorney and Shakespeare Theatre Company Bard Association Chair Abbe Lowell. close
