The Center for Strategic and International Studies hosted a conference about defense cooperation between the United States and South Korea, including acquisition policy and research and development programs. This portion featured keynote remarks from the head of South Korea’s defense acquisition agency, Jeon Jei-Guk, and former Trump administration Acting Navy Secretary Sean Stackley. Both reflected on what they called the strong military relationship of the U.S. and South Korea, and each made recommendations for how to further strengthen the alliance and ensure joint military readiness to counter potential North Korean aggression. close
