The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) held a meeting to discuss seven agenda items, one of which included a vote to repeal net neutrality rules. “Net neutrality” refers Obama administration rules that regulated the internet like a public utility and prohibited internet service providers from blocking or charging websites for higher quality delivery to consumers. Other agenda items included the commission’s Emergency Alert System, tele-health access in rural America, and communications towers standards. The commissioners proceeded to the net neutrality item but had to recess quickly due to a security concern. close
