Samantha Mosier talked about her book Creating Organic Standard in the United States: The Diffusion of State Organic Food and Agriculture Legislation, in which she examines the history of the organic food market. She explained how organic food and agriculture are regulated in the U.S. market, why its gained political support, and what it really means to label food “Organic.”

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2017 LCV Cities Tour” in Springfield, Missouri, from November 4-10, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Mediacom cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
