Following their official swearing-in on the chamber floor, Senators Doug Jones (D-AL) and Tina Smith (D-MN) reenacted the ceremony in the Old Senate Chamber with Vice President Mike Pence, in his role as president of the Senate, presiding. Senator Jones and his family were escorted by former Vice President Joe Biden. Senator Smith and her family were escorted by former Vice President Walter Mondale and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). close
