Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) talked about undocumented migrants who arrived in the U.S. as children, also known as “DREAMers,” and the Trump administration’s March 5, 2018, deadline for ending former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. DACA allowed some individuals who entered the country as minors illegally, to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and to be eligible for a work permit. Senator Blumenthal urged for the passage of the DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act and talked about a boy named Jonathan who came to the U.S. at the age of four. close
