Food Supply Safety A report released in December 2017 by the Health and Human Services Department’s Office of Inspector General identified what it called “deficiencies” in the Food and Drug Administration’s oversight of the food-recall process. Representatives from both agencies testified before a House subcommittee to address these and other issues and the steps the FDA has taken since the report was issued. close
