Just before a cloture vote on a continuing resolution to fund the government through February 8, Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) thanked senators for working on immigration and said “now comes the real test” on whether Congress could “get this done” using regular order. He said this was the “largest bipartition group of senators ever to commit to moving on the Dream Act,” which would extend residency protections to undocumented immigrants who came or were brought to the U.S. as children. close
