The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations held a hearing on the opioid epidemic and ways drug traffickers exploit the U.S. and international mail systems. Representatives from the State Department, U.S. Postal Service, Customs and Border Protection, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement talked about what their agencies were doing to address these mail system vulnerabilities, including inter-agency information sharing and cooperation, as well as coordination with their international counterparts. close
