Senate leaders reached a two-year spending deal that would increase the federal budget by nearly $300 billion, with Pentagon funds rising $80 billion and domestic spending by $63 billion in fiscal year 2018 alone. The agreement clears the way for senators to approve a six-week continuing resolution and avoid a government shutdown, and allows time for congressional spending committees to determine allocation for additional funding. close
