The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee held a hearing to consider the impact of the opioid epidemic on children and families. Witnesses included a mother who lost two of her teenage sons to overdoses, a neonatal doctor, and the president of a large foster care organization. They answered questions about what they have observed through their work and experiences with babies, children, and families affected by opioid abuse and made suggestions for improvements on the local, state, and federal levels. close
