White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney testified before the Senate Budget Committee about President Trump’s fiscal year 2019 budget request. He defended the $4.4 trillion proposed budget but said it does not balance within the ten-year window. In addition, Director Mulvaney acknowledged that he would have voted against the White House budget as a member of Congress. Democratic members voiced their concerns with the overall budget process and the proposed cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and other federal assistance programs. close
